Gone West

Gone West is a tree-planting company that partners with businesses in order to offset their carbon footprint by planting trees across the planet. As the lead designer, my role was to create a brand identity for Gone West that echoed across the digital space and print / packaging.

I led the redesign of Gone West’s main website and e-commerce platform along with an external developer, with the goal of aligning their digital presence more closely with their environmental mission and values. The design approach focused on creating a calm, nature-inspired aesthetic—utilizing the rebranded earthy tones that reflects their commitment to sustainability and reforestation. For the main site, I focused on storytelling and clarity, making their mission and impact easily digestible. The shop experience was restructured to feel intuitive and engaging, with simplified navigation and product presentation to support ethical purchasing decisions. Overall, the redesign aimed to inspire action, and create a seamless bridge between purpose and product.

I also led the design of the Gone West Coffee tins, created for distribution in cafés across Nicaragua. The brief was to reflect the brand’s mission—planting one tree for every cup sold—through a design that felt bold, ethical, and approachable. Using a vivid green palette and simple, organic iconography, the packaging balances environmental messaging with a clean, modern aesthetic. The result was a few options for the logo, and a standout product that tells a story of sustainability, resonating with both locals and eco-conscious travelers.
